Filipino · Sheffield
A small Filipino kitchen in the middle of Sheffield, and the thing to know before you go is that there's no printed menu — a handful of dishes are cooked fresh each morning and you choose from what's actually there. Children who like ordering the same thing every time may need a nudge, but portions are big enough to share and food arrives quickly, which counts when someone's patience is running out. There are high chairs and a kids' menu. The pork afritada, beef kaldereta and mechado all get raved about, and the desserts get the loudest praise of all — buko pandan, ube cake, Filipino snacks to take home. It's genuinely cheap: one family paid £30 for three adults and a child. Homely, vibrant room, karaoke some evenings, and staff who treat you like family.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
