A family-run Persian kitchen in Levenshulme that's rarely as full as it deserves to be — which works in your favour when you turn up with a pram and hungry children. Food arrives fast, which matters when someone is already melting down, and portions are big: a shared four-dish starter and a couple of koobideh skewers will feed everyone. The kashke bademjan and the Deezee lamb stew with fresh bread and herbs draw the most praise, and the Fesenjoon is worth ordering. Vegetarians and vegans are properly looked after (aubergine done a dozen ways), and there's a kids' menu, high chairs and free parking. It's BYOB with modest corkage, so bring your own bottle. Families talk about leaving "well fed, well looked after".

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
