Kingsland Cafe
A family-friendly Southampton restaurant at the mid-price range, with an early 5.0 rating from happy diners.

West African · Southampton
Southampton's West African cooking gets a plain, unfussy setting here — basic interior, no background music, nothing precious about it, which does mean nobody minds a bit of noise from a table with children. High chairs are available and there's a kids' menu, and the owners have a warm, welcoming way with people; plenty of families have been coming back for years. The jollof rice draws real praise, as does white rice with ayamase — tasty rather than fiery — plus moi moi and fufu. Prices are fair, though portions run smaller than you might expect, and meat-heavy dishes are hit and miss, with some parents finding more bone than they bargained for. They deliver with their own drivers, handy on a night when getting everyone out the door isn't happening.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
