It's a small, cosy room rather than a sprawling one, so a pram may need parking carefully, but high chairs and a kids' menu are there, plus a few outdoor tables when the weather allows. Portions are hearty and prices gentle: the chips (ask for cheese and gravy) have a following, the pies and hot pot do too, and roast dinners run every day, not just Sundays. Breakfast is the big draw. Staff are chatty and genuinely accommodating about how children want things cooked, and one family found everything "cooked to OUR liking" without fuss. Vegetarian and vegan options appear across the menu.
